1 Month Old

I decided that every month I am going to try to do a mini photoshoot with Cambri to practice photography and editing because that's one of things I love to do. So far Cambri hasn't been the best model for me and wants to cry whenever I try to do a photoshoot. I seem to always get a couple to work with though. So here are Cambri's 1 Month Pictures.

At one Month Cambri is a very good baby and we are hoping it stays this way. She weighs about 6.12 lbs. She hardly ever cries. She'll cry when she is really hungry and when she gets her diaper and clothes changed. Other than that she will grunt to get our attention and pretty much whenever we move her she'll grunt. We love her little grunts. She also gets the hiccups a lot and will sometimes squeak like a mouse when she hiccups. She slept in a cradle the first month in our room but we just transitioned her into her crib because she makes so many little noises when shes trying to fall asleep. I thought she wouldn't like it but she does really good in the crib! She'll either fall right asleep or cry for a few minutes and then fall asleep. Her favorite activities are sleeping (about 18 hours a day), eating (she eats formula and breast milk), messing her diapers (she is always peeing in the middle of changing her diaper), and cuddling with Mommy and Daddy (especially when it's skin-to-skin). She hardly ever spits up. And she takes the pacifier really well. She's pretty much the perfect baby. We are so in love with our little girl!

Our first walk...typical Tyler
In her Cradle. I caught her doing one of her sweet sleep smiles. Those melt my heart every time.

Cambri's Due date!

This pretty girl was supposed to be born today....

This whole month that I've had her it was so surreal to think that she should have still been in my tummy. I would look at my blog countdown and it would say something like 20 days to go but I already had her! Today it says "40 weeks and 0 days. It's go time!". Even though it was a huge shock at first to have my baby so early without notice I'm so glad I did! I can't imagine not having her now and I'm really glad that I didn't have to go through that super uncomfortable last month of pregnancy while teaching. I'm also glad I got to deliver such a small baby. It made the recovery super nice.

I went to weigh Cambri yesterday and she is 6.10 lbs. I'm sure she would have been bigger if she was delivered today but she's still my little baby girl.

My mom sent me a package this week with a bunch of clothes she bought but forget to bring up. With the package was a little preemie outfit. It looked way too little for her. The legs actually fit perfect but the shirt was a little small. I tried to make it look like it fit her so I could keep the outfit and tell her she used to fit in this. I'm sure she would have fit in it better when she was just born.

This is how it really fit...

Sneak Peak

Here's a sneak peek of Cambri's pictures! Cambri did such an amazing job and slept through the whole shoot except for when she took pictures with Tyler and I. Our good friend Maija-Lisa took them and did such an amazing job! I was so sad because due to Cambri being born early I wasn't able to order fun props like hats to take pictures of her in (well,I was able to get the tutu) but it turned out that Maija-Lisa had all the props that I was thinking of buying and I was super excited! I love them!

3 Weeks Old

Cambri is now 3 weeks old! Wow, this time is going by way too fast. She is already so much bigger than when we took her home from the hospital. I think she had a growth spurt this week. This was also my first week without my mom. We definitely miss her but we seem to be surviving. I love staying home all day. I thought it would be really hard to be home all day but wow, it's awesome. I'm getting those little things done that I've been wanting to do but mainly I love just cuddling and rocking my baby. I feel like I could hold and stare at her all day. Here are some pictures of Cambri in her third week of life.

We got her pictures taken this week and I got this tutu for them but I had to try in on before and get a few snapshots. It was a premi size but it still seemed to cover up her whole body.

Cambri doesn't really like to be swaddled. She likes to spread out and relax.
Okay it's a little big but it's so cute! And she loved it. Fell right asleep in it.

2 Weeks old

I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks! (2 and a half now) It's crazy how fast the days go by. I thought I would have all this extra time at home to do things like update my blog but it's a lot more time consuming then I thought. I don't mind. I'm loving just being home all day and I can't get enough of holding my baby. I can just hold and stare at her all day and still be in shock that she is mine forever.

We had her 2 week doctors appointment and the dotor said she is doing great! She's in the 5th percentile for weight and head circumference and 25th percentile for length.

Here's some pictures of Cambri's second week of life:

Our new swing. We love it!

She'll sometimes stretch her skinny legs straight out when we lift her up. It's so funny

Our little girl is so smart. She will actually hold in her pacifier with her hand when it starts to fall out.

1st week at home

It was so great to be able to take my baby home with me from the hospital on Valentines Day. It was definitely the best valentines gift Tyler and I could ask for. She got into the 4 lb range when we took her home so she was teeny tiny. It's not as hard as I thought it would be being a mommy. The hardest thing is definitely breastfeeding and getting up at nights. I love my sleep. It's been a challenge feeding her because she won't suck hard enough or long enough so my milk supply is really low. So every time I feed her I have to supplement with formula and then pump after so it's about an hour process.

Even though those are a challenge,  the hardest thing about that first week was that Cambri got jaundice really bad and had to be in a UV light bed/billi blanket for four days and she had to be in the bed all day except for when I fed her. That broke my heart not to be able to hold my baby whenever I wanted but at least I got to have her home with me and not in the hospital. My mom stayed with us the first 2 weeks at home and that was so nice to have her there for support, advice, and company.

I  definitely am in love with my little girl. I keep thinking that this is just a temporary thing and that in a week or so I'll have to go back to reality and not have a baby anymore and have to teach but it's all real! This really has been my dream since I was a little girl. I probably played house and asked Santa for dolls until I went into junior high school. I can't think of anything that is better than being married to the most amazing man and starting a family together.

 First day home.

Tyler didn't take off his hospital band for the whole first week. He said he liked to show it off at school that he just had a baby. So cute!
