14 hours driving + 11 hour hike + 2 Aching bodies / 3 days = One tired Babb Family

THURSDAY: The decision

Thursday night Tyler and i went to walmart and ran into Tylers friend, Ryan Oak's Mom. She told us about this awesome Hike that they were going on. She then said, "hey, they might have two extra spots if you guys aren't doing anything Monday" And sense we are total bums right now we told her "heck yes we'd want to go!" So we later that night we got a call from Ryan telligng us that they had to get permits for this hike in February and they got 8 permits but two people couldn't come last minute so we could go if we wanted to. We thought about it and knew we were going to Logan to see Preston and Shawnee that weekend so it would be a lot of driving but hey! We're the Babb's! So of course we made the decision to go!

FRIDAY: The BBQ

On friday, Tyler and I hung out with his good friends from highschool and their wives: Spencer and tiffany and Jared and Miia-Liisa. We went to Tiffany's parents and had a yummy BBQ and went swimming in their indoorpool. We then watched Mall Cop! It was way fun to hang out with them and well, lets face it, to just hang otu with people other than ourselves.

SATURDAY: The Hopkins Family

On Saturday Tyler and I drove to Logan to see Tyler's way good friends Preston and Shawnee Hopkins and their new baby Cohen. We went out to dinner with them to have pizza, then we played games, made Fh-zookie, and stayed the night. Baby Cohen is SO adorable and it was fun to see them and their cute home.

6 weeks old and Cohen can already wave!
The cutest little family: The Hopkins!
That was so much fun, thanks Preston and Shawnee!

SUNDAY: The Drive

We stayed up probably the latest we have since we've been married at Preston and Shawnee's until about 2:30am. So we didn't get up Sunday morning until like 11:00! Preston was nice enough to make us French toast that Fathers Day morning and then we were off to St George for a 6 hour drive! We then got to St George and met up with our hiking group and got right back in the car to drive to Zions to get our permit for our hike. We decided since we were in the park and it was national free park pass day that we would go on the shuttle and look around for the the beautiful sites. We then went home and went to bed to rest for our crazy hike the next day!

MONDAY: The Coolest Hike Ever

Monday morning we woke up and were excited for our hike! We were so fortunate to have our friends, the Oaks, invite us last minute to go on this hike.  The hike is in Zion National Park and is called THE SUBWAY. It is a 9 mile hike and took us about 11 hours to finish it. The park only gives out 50 permits a day to go on the hike. It was way fun and adventurous because we had to do some repelling and swim through freeezing water. And of course it was gorgeous. We went with our friends Ryan and Kendra Oak and Ryans Parents and it just so happened my friend from my BYU Elem Ed Cohort Brittney Dent and Her husband Steven came too! It was the coolest hike ever!!!

Okay, so I uploaded these pictures backwards (I'm new at this) but I'm not sure how to switch them around so here ya go.

At the very end of the hike. We were dang tired!

Most of the hike was going down the canyon so obviously at the end we had to go up and man that was straight up!

Here is everyones water shoes. Mine were hot pink with hawaii flowers (I borrowed Tyler's little sisters old ones) Can you find the bare foot? Steven Lost one of his shoes in the water when he was swimming our bags across so he hiked probably half the hike with one shoe)

There were tons of mini waterfalls that we hiked down and this was at the end.

A pretty moss grown waterfall. This is kind of like one that we got to slide down.

This is why they call the hike THE SUBWAY

                            Walking out of The Subway

Tyler and Ryan being strong men under the waterfall

Me repelling down the canyon into the subway

Tyler repelling into the cold water

This part of the hike was so pretty! The water was so clear with the red rock underneath and green moss growing and random deep trenches filled with water.

Oh baby that was cold water!

This was probably the "most adventurous" part of the hike. We repelled into the freezing water and had to swim across all of this. the boys were awesome and swam our backpacks across. This is where Steven lost his shoe.

Heres everybody after our first time having to swim across the water.
Tyler doing his sexy tiger pose.

           Just for fun

You can see the canyon we hiked down is in the background.

This is the beginning of the hike where we had walk down the biggest rock ever!
